Srinagar: The ruling National Conference (NC) on Thursday issued a whip to its MLAs, directing them to attend the assembly session and vote for party candidates in Friday’s election for four Rajya Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir.
NC chief whip Mubarak Gul issued a three-line whip, instructing legislators not to abstain, remain absent, or vote against party directions.
The NC has fielded candidates for all four seats, while the opposition BJP has nominated three. Based on its current strength in the assembly, the NC is poised to secure three seats comfortably, with a close contest expected for the fourth.
