Srinagar: National Conference (NC) leader Sajad Kichloo has been elected to the Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir, becoming the party’s second candidate to win after Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan. Kichloo secured 56 votes, officials said on Friday.
The voting process, which saw participation from 85 MLAs, reaffirmed the NC’s dominance in the Assembly and ensured a comfortable win for Kichloo.
According to sources, the party’s numerical strength positions it to clinch three of the four Rajya Sabha seats from J&K, while the BJP is likely to bag the remaining one. Counting for the other seats is still in progress.
