Div Com Kashmir directs officers to ensure meticulous and befitting arrangements for “Run for Unity” and UT Foundation Day celebrations

Div Com Kashmir Reviews Arrangements for “Run for Unity” & UT Foundation Day Celebrations; Calls for Dry Run of Events

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today chaired a high-level meeting at SKICC to review the final arrangements for the upcoming “Run for Unity” and the celebration of UT Foundation Diwas/Ekta Diwas. He directed officers to ensure meticulous planning and flawless execution of all assigned responsibilities for the smooth and successful conduct of the events.

Stressing the need for perfection and coordination, the Div Com instructed officers to conduct a dry run of all scheduled activities to ensure synchronized and vibrant celebrations. He emphasized that all departments must ensure enthusiastic participation and directed that all participants should reach the venue before 8:30 AM.

The Div Com issued detailed directions for arrangements including erection of pandals at SKICC’s back lawn, stage decoration, distribution of caps, seating for VIPs and participants, parking management, and provision of pick-and-drop and refreshment facilities. He also directed that the National Anthem be sung both before the flag-off of the “Run for Unity” and at the conclusion of the UT Diwas function in the auditorium.

The Information Department was instructed to finalize the event documentary, install video walls and standees, and design a creative backdrop reflecting the theme of unity and progress. The Div Com further directed Traffic Police to issue an advance traffic advisory for smooth regulation and movement.

He also reviewed departmental success stories, cultural presentations, and preparations for a photo exhibition depicting the vibrancy and achievements of the Union Territory.

Additionally, he directed all civil departments to ensure comprehensive arrangements for basic amenities, including drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, mobile toilets, medical aid, ambulances, and fire safety measures.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, DIG Police, and Heads of Departments and senior officers from Health, Education, JKEDI, Information, Horticulture, Agriculture, ICDS, Jal Shakti, KPDCL, Handloom and Handicrafts, Hospitality and Protocol, Police, BSF, Sanitation, RTC, SMC, and Floriculture, among others.
