Srinagar: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir on Wednesday conducted searches at Village Tendala Gandoh in Doda district as part of an ongoing probe into a case involving alleged fraudulent overseas job placements.
The operation was carried out at the residence of Farhat Malik, who has been found prima facie involved in FIR No. 02/2025, registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and fraud.
Officials said the case pertains to allegations of deceit and monetary exploitation of individuals under the guise of offering employment opportunities both abroad and within the country. Acting on credible information and investigative leads, the Crime Branch launched searches to recover incriminating evidence connected to the case.
A spokesperson for the Special Crime Wing reiterated the department’s resolve to uphold transparency, accountability, and justice, especially in cases involving public trust and financial misconduct.
The investigation remains underway, and more details are expected as the probe advances.
