Mumbai: Grammy Award-winning pop sensation Enrique Iglesias set the stage on fire with a power-packed performance at his Mumbai concert, marking his much-awaited return to India after 13 years. The global icon greeted thousands of cheering fans with a warm “Namaste”, instantly winning hearts as he performed on Day 1 of his two-day concert series at the MMRDA Grounds.
The Spanish superstar had the audience grooving and singing along to his all-time hits, exuding his signature charm throughout the night. Dressed in an all-black casual look with his trademark cap, Iglesias delivered an electrifying 90-minute set featuring 19 chart-topping numbers, including ‘Subeme La Radio’, ‘Freak’, ‘Be With You’, ‘Duele el Corazon’, ‘Bailamos’, ‘Bailando’, ‘Hero’, and ‘Escape’. The evening concluded with a spectacular performance of ‘I Like It’, as hundreds of white balloons bearing his initials “EI” floated above the crowd amid dazzling fireworks.
The star-studded concert drew an audience of over 25,000 fans, including several Bollywood celebrities such as Malaika Arora, Vidya Balan, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Rubina Dilaik, Anu Malik, and Disha Parmar. Others spotted at the venue included Abhinav Shukla, Tina Datta, Aditya Seal, Anushka Ranjan, Sonal Chauhan, Tanisha Mukherjee, Jai Bhanushali, Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnerjee, Elnaaz Norouzi, Orry Awatramani, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shriya Saran.
Rakul Preet Singh shared glimpses from the memorable night on her Instagram Stories, where she could be seen dancing with Jackky Bhagnani and soaking in the electric atmosphere.
The concert also featured support performances by Indo-Canadian singer Jonita Gandhi and the Progressive Brothers, an EDM duo who amped up the energy with their dynamic set.
Fans from across the country — including Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Kolkata, and Chandigarh — travelled to Mumbai to witness the historic performance, underscoring Iglesias’ massive fanbase in India.
The two-day concert series, promoted and produced by EVA Live, marks Enrique Iglesias’ debut performance in Mumbai. The second show, scheduled for October 30, is expected to attract an even larger crowd of around 30,000 fans.
