Mumbai: Netflix has unveiled the gripping trailer for its upcoming supernatural thriller Baramulla, offering a haunting glimpse into a mystery set deep in the scenic yet eerie valleys of Kashmir.
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film stars Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli in lead roles.
The story follows DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyid (Kaul), who is assigned to Baramulla to investigate a series of mysterious child disappearances. As he moves into the town with his wife Gulnaar (Sumbli) and their two children, unsettling occurrences begin to unfold—footsteps echo in the night, whispers fill the silence, and an inexplicable smell of a dog lingers in their home. What starts as a routine investigation soon spirals into something far darker and deeply personal.
Speaking about the film, Jambhale said, “With the trailer, we wanted to offer audiences just a glimpse into the world of Baramulla. It begins as a mystery thriller but gradually transforms into something far more emotional and psychological. It’s about fear—not just of the unknown, but the fear buried within us, the one our minds refuse to confront.”
Kaul added, “Being a Kashmiri from Baramulla, the script felt like a calling—to tell stories of the valley with honesty, sincerity, and love. With Netflix, Jio Studios, and B62 Studios joining forces, the film’s world has been created with remarkable authenticity and vision. I believe this story will linger in viewers’ minds long after it ends, blurring the lines between what’s real and what isn’t.”
Apart from Kaul and Sumbli, Baramulla also features Arista Mehta and Rohaan Singh in pivotal roles. The screenplay is co-written by Aditya Dhar, Aditya Suhas Jambhale, and Monal Thaakar.
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Baramulla is set to premiere on Netflix on November 7.
