Under PM Modi’s Leadership, J&K Realising the Vision of Sardar Patel and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee: LG Manoj Sinha

LG calls for unity and collective resolve towards inclusive development

SRINAGAR,: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the dreams of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee are being realised through the all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering during the UT Foundation Day celebrations, the Lieutenant Governor said that an aspirational Jammu and Kashmir was born on 31st October 2019, and within a short span of time, the people’s dream of peace and progress has been fulfilled.

“Historic milestones have been achieved in infrastructure and other key sectors. All forms of discrimination have been eliminated, and social justice and equality firmly established,” the LG said.

Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor administered the Unity Pledge and flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ to mark the birth anniversary of India’s unifier and first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Calling for unity with the singular objective of inclusive development, the Lieutenant Governor said,

“We must follow the vision and ideals of Sardar Patel and work as a unified force for the shared goal of Aatm-Nirbhar J&K and Viksit Bharat. We have made history in terms of all-round development and must continue this journey as one unbreakable entity.”

He reiterated that under the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the roadmap for J&K’s future is clear — delimitation followed by assembly elections, and statehood at an appropriate time.

On administrative reforms, the LG said the process of removing government employees involved in terror activities will continue until the entire terror ecosystem is uprooted from the governance system.

Urging citizens to remain vigilant and united, he said,

“Attempts are being made to hinder our progress. People must stand together to ensure the development process continues unhindered.”

The Lieutenant Governor also called upon public representatives and government officials to work in coordination to maintain peace, harmony, and sustain J&K’s remarkable growth trajectory.

“Since 2019, the aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir have become synonymous with those of the nation. We must work with dedication to transform our unity into shared prosperity — guided by the vision of the Four Ps: Peace, Progress, Prosperity, and People First,” he added.

On the occasion, the LG inaugurated a Photo Exhibition titled “An Era of Transformative Governance in Jammu Kashmir”. Young achievers and entrepreneurs shared their success stories, and the Department of Information and Public Relations showcased a documentary on “Viksit Jammu Kashmir.”

The event was attended by Shri Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, J&K Legislative Assembly; Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board; Shri Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Shri S.J.M. Gillani, Special DG Coordination, PHQ; Shri Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; senior officers of civil and police administration, members of the security forces, educationists, youth, and prominent citizens from across J&K.
