Legislators hold discussions with the Jal Shakti Minister on public issues

SRINAGAR: A delegation of several legislators yesterday called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana, at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, and discussed a range of public issues concerning their respective constituencies.

The delegation included legislators Sajjad Shafi Uri, Javaid Iqbal Choudhary, Zafar Ali Khatana, Salman Sagar, and Shabir Ahmed Kullay.

During the meeting, the legislators raised several matters related to the augmentation and strengthening of water supply infrastructure. They emphasized the need to improve potable water facilities and ensure equitable and reliable water availability to all sections of the public.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that all genuine demands and developmental concerns would be addressed on priority. He directed the Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers (SEs), and Executive Engineers (XEns) of the Jal Shakti Department to maintain close coordination with the legislators to ensure timely and effective resolution of public grievances.

Rana reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to providing sustainable and dependable water supply across all habitations in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged officers to adopt a mission-oriented and proactive approach to expedite ongoing projects and overcome field-level challenges.

Appreciating the legislators for their dedicated efforts and continuous engagement with the public, the Minister encouraged them to continue working tirelessly for the welfare and development of their constituencies, assuring them of full cooperation and support from the Ministry.
