Divisional Commissioner Jammu flags off J&K Deaf Cricket Team for 9th IDCA Tournament in New Delhi

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today flagged off the Jammu & Kashmir Deaf Cricket Team to New Delhi for participation in the 9th All India T-20 Indian Deaf Cricket Association Tournament, scheduled to be held in the National Capital from November 3, 2025.

Extending his best wishes to the players, the Divisional Commissioner encouraged them to perform with excellence and uphold the sporting spirit while representing Jammu and Kashmir as true ambassadors of the Union Territory.

The team, led by Captain Suhail Ahmad Ganie, was accompanied by Ranjeet Kalra, Sports Administrator and Member of the Governing Council (Sports), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

Team member Umar Ashraf expressed gratitude to business entrepreneurs Aman Modi and Khalid Malik for their generous support in managing the team’s travel and accommodation arrangements. He also thanked the Divisional Commissioner for the warm hospitality extended to the players.

The team comprises:
Suhail Ahmad Ganie (Captain), Amir Rouf (Vice-Captain), Umar Ashraf (Wicketkeeper), Hilal Wani, Shakir Fayaz, Sharik Majeed, Bilal Bhat, Zaheer Abass, Peer Mohammad Arif, M. Shafi, Syed Azhar, Tajala Gaffor, Muzaffar Ahmad, Hanuman Ram, with Irfan Ahmad (Manager) and Sajad Chowdhary (Coach) accompanying them.
