LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Security Scenario in Kashmir Division

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting in Srinagar to review the security situation across the Kashmir Division.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo; Director General of Police Shri Nalin Prabhat; Special DG (Coordination) PHQ J&K Shri S.J.M. Gillani; Principal Secretary, Home, Shri Chandraker Bharti; ADGP CID Shri Nitish Kumar; Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari; IGP Kashmir Shri Vidhi Kumar Birdi; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shri Anshul Garg; besides DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, and SSPs of all districts in the division.

The Lieutenant Governor called upon the officers to maintain continuous ground assessment, remain vigilant, and intensify efforts to eradicate terrorism from the Valley. He took a detailed review of the overall security situation and directed for coordinated and focused actions to realize the vision of a terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir.

He urged the Civil Administration and Police to work in close coordination to ensure effective law and order management, robust security arrangements, and successful anti-terror operations.

“We must adopt a 360-degree approach to completely dismantle terrorism and its entire support ecosystem,” the Lieutenant Governor stressed.

Highlighting the importance of countering misinformation, the Lieutenant Governor directed officials to develop a comprehensive strategy to curb fake news and false narratives. He also instructed the Police and District Administrations to engage youth through self-employment initiatives and ensure prompt and quality redressal of public grievances.

The meeting further reviewed the winter preparedness of district administrations. The Lieutenant Governor directed the officers to remain alert and ready to tackle any challenge during the winter months.

Commending the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their professionalism and dedication, the Lieutenant Governor lauded their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the nation and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
