India’s Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues have been named in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Team of the Tournament, following standout performances throughout the event.

The Indian trio joins an elite lineup that also includes three players from runners-up South Africa — captain Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, and Nadine de Klerk — alongside three Australians, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King. England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sophie Ecclestone, as well as Pakistan wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz, complete the selection.

Mandhana and Wolvaardt, who faced off in the final, were named as openers after dominating the run charts. Wolvaardt topped the table with 571 runs at an average of 71.37, the highest aggregate in Women’s World Cup history, powered by back-to-back centuries in the semifinal and final. Mandhana struck a century against New Zealand and ended her campaign with 434 runs at 54.25.

Jemimah Rodrigues earned the No. 3 spot for her unforgettable 127* in the semifinal that propelled India to the final. Deepti Sharma, meanwhile, led the bowling charts with 22 wickets, including a key spell in the title clash.

For South Africa, Kapp once again impressed as an all-rounder, contributing two half-centuries and 12 wickets, including a five-wicket haul against England, making her the leading wicket-taker in Women’s World Cup history. De Klerk added depth with both bat and ball, notably smashing an unbeaten 84 off 54 against India and taking nine wickets overall.

Australia’s Alana King made history with a 7/18 spell against South Africa — the best bowling figures ever in a Women’s World Cup — while Annabel Sutherland claimed 17 wickets and scored an unbeaten 98 against England. Her partnership of 180 runs with Gardner, who struck her second century of the tournament and bagged seven wickets, was another highlight.

Pakistan’s Sidra Nawaz excelled behind the stumps with three catches and four stumpings, including a brilliant leg-side grab to dismiss India’s Harmanpreet Kaur. England spinner Sophie Ecclestone claimed 16 wickets at 14.25, featuring two four-wicket hauls, while her captain Nat Sciver-Brunt (262 runs, nine wickets) was named the 12th player.

The selection panel included Ian Bishop, Mel Jones, Isa Guha, Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager – Events and Corporate Communications), and journalist Estelle Vasudevan.
