BJP Rejects Rahul Gandhi’s Haryana Vote Theft Allegation as Baseless, Says He’s Defaming India’s Democracy

New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claims of large-scale vote theft in the Haryana Assembly polls as “false and baseless,” accusing him of attempting to undermine the Election Commission and tarnish India’s democratic image to conceal his party’s failures.

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju hit back at Gandhi after the Congress leader alleged that 25 lakh “fake” entries were added to Haryana’s electoral rolls, claiming his party’s victory had been “stolen” last year. Gandhi asserted he had “100 per cent proof” of the alleged fraud.

Addressing a press conference, Rijiju accused Gandhi of “playing games” with “anti-India forces” to defame the country. He alleged that Gandhi often travels abroad during elections, avoids engaging with people on the ground, and blames others after electoral defeats.

Mocking the Congress leader as “someone who neither works hard nor stays among the people,” Rijiju said, “If there is any voting irregularity, it should be raised with the Election Commission or in court — but he never does that.”
