DC & SSP Poonch Extend Greetings to Sikh Community on 556th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
POONCH: The 556th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm across Poonch district. The main event took place at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Poonch, under the guidance of Shrimaan Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib.
On the occasion, Mahant Sahib Ji extended warm greetings to the devotees and urged them to begin each day with remembrance of the Almighty and to follow the path of truth, compassion, and humility as taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The celebrations commenced with the completion of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, followed by melodious Gurbani Kirtan performed by eminent Ragi Jathas, including Bhai Balwinder Singh Ladi (Hazuri Ragi, Sachkhand Shri Darbar Sahib), Bhai Jitanpal Singh from Kashmir, Bhai Harcharan Singh, Bhai Ranjeet Singh (UP), Bhai Rasmeet Singh, Bhai Bupinder Singh, Bhai Sartaj Singh, Bhai Manjeet Singh Bali and others.
Renowned preachers such as Dr. Harsimranjeet Singh (Professor, University of Jammu), Bhai Ravinder Singh, and others delivered inspiring Gurbani Vichaar, reflecting on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism, who was born on April 15, 1469, at Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, Pakistan).
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, along with SSP Poonch, Shafket Hussain Bhat, ASP Mohan Lal, DySP HQ Neeraj Sharma, and other officers from civil and police administration attended the event and conveyed their greetings to the Sikh community on this auspicious occasion.
President of DGPC, S. Narinder Singh, while addressing the Sangat, highlighted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine message of peace, equality, and service to humanity. The proceedings and Gurbani Vichaar were conducted by DGPC General Secretary, S. Harcharan Singh.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Hukamnama by Shrimaan Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji, marking the culmination of a spiritually enriching celebration.
