Javed Ahmed Rana reviews progress of developmental works, Water Supply Schemes in Rajouri
RAJOURI: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Rajouri to assess the progress of ongoing developmental projects and the status of various water supply schemes in the district.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed the need to expedite the execution of water supply schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Capex Budget, and NABARD funding. He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of all projects to provide functional household tap connections to every home under the Har Ghar Jal initiative.


Emphasizing the importance of efficient expenditure and effective implementation, the Minister urged officers to accelerate the pace of all developmental works and prevent any lapse of funds. He called for a proactive and coordinated approach to achieve visible progress within stipulated timelines.
In terms of environmental regulation, the Minister issued strict directions to curb illegal muck dumping and instructed that all stone crushers must operate in compliance with environmental norms and standards.
Reiterating the Omar Abdullah Government’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible development, the Minister lauded the efforts of the district administration and field departments for their ongoing work. He encouraged them to maintain momentum and ensure timely, quality outcomes that deliver tangible benefits to the people of Rajouri.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma; Chief Engineer Jal Shakti, Hanif Choudhary; ADDC; SE PWD; Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and PWD; ACD; ACP; Conservator of Forests; Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Board, and other senior officers of the district administration.
