Ahmed Khan wraps Dubai schedule of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ song with Akshay Kumar
Mumbai: Choreographer-filmmaker Ahmed Khan has wrapped up the Dubai schedule for a song from the upcoming comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle, starring Akshay Kumar.
Taking to Instagram, Ahmed shared a picture from a flight featuring himself, Akshay Kumar, actress Disha Patani, and his wife Shaira Ahmed Khan. Captioning the post, he wrote, “From set life to jet life. Fun time after wrapping the Dubai song #welcometothejungle.”
Welcome To The Jungle boasts an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Jackie Shroff, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani.
The film marks the third installment in the Welcome franchise. The first film, Welcome (2007), directed by Anees Bazmee, was a loose remake of the 1999 English comedy Mickey Blue Eyes and starred Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, and Mallika Sherawat. Its sequel, Welcome Back (2015), featured Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Shiney Ahuja, and Dimple Kapadia among others.
Ahmed Khan, who began his career as a child actor in Mr. India, went on to choreograph hit films like Taal, Ghajini, and Kick. As a director, he helmed Lakeer – Forbidden Lines, Baaghi 2, and Fool & Final, and also wrote and produced Paathshaala and Ek Paheli Leela.
He has also appeared as a judge on popular dance reality shows such as Dance India Dance Li’l Masters (Season 3), where contestants fondly called him “Pappi King”, and Nach Baliye 9 in 2019.
