Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday appealed to voters in the Nagrota Assembly constituency to participate in large numbers in the November 11 byelection and ensure the National Conference’s victory.
Addressing a public gathering in support of NC candidate Shameem Begum, Abdullah urged people to strengthen the party’s position in the region through their votes.
The byelection was necessitated following the death of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana in October 2024.
However, a technical glitch in the audio system forced the National Conference leader to end his speech prematurely during the campaign rally.
