Banka: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused BJP leaders of casting votes both in Delhi and during the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections.
Addressing a rally in Banka, Gandhi claimed that the Congress had presented proof of “vote chori” (vote theft) in the Haryana elections, adding that the Election Commission could not deny the allegations.
The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha had earlier alleged that last year’s Haryana Assembly polls were “stolen,” asserting that 25 lakh entries in the voters’ list were fake and that the Election Commission had colluded with the BJP to secure the party’s win.
“Yesterday, I came to know that BJP leaders who voted in Delhi also voted in the first phase of the Bihar elections,” Gandhi said.
He alleged that out of two crore voters in Haryana, 29 lakh were bogus and that the BJP had committed “vote theft” in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana, warning that the same attempt was being made in Bihar. “But I am confident the people of Bihar will not allow this to happen,” he added.
Gandhi also accused the NDA government of distracting the youth from real issues by encouraging them to make social media reels.
“Reels are the addiction of the 21st century,” he remarked.
