Sasaram: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claim of “vote chori” as unfounded, urging him to take any substantiated complaint to the Election Commission. Speaking at two rallies in Rohtas district, Singh said the Congress lacked substantive issues to campaign on, which, he claimed, prompted Gandhi to make such accusations.

“If Rahul Gandhi believes votes are being stolen in Bihar, he should lodge a formal complaint with the EC. Instead, he is making baseless allegations against a constitutional institution — he is lying,” Singh said.

He accused the Congress of practicing divisive politics by fomenting discord along caste, creed and religious lines. Singh also criticised Gandhi for raising reservation-related concerns about the armed forces, saying the military should not be dragged into political debates.

“The defence forces stand above such matters,” he said, adding that the BJP supports reservation and has extended it to the poor and other eligible groups.

Praising the armed forces for their efforts in Operation Sindoor, Singh described it as “halted, not stopped,” and warned that India would respond firmly to any future terrorist attacks. “India does not provoke, but if provoked, we will not spare anyone,” he said, asserting that the country is now recognised as a global power.
