Deputy Commissioner Jammu reviews progress of RDD works under District Capex, PMAY-G and SBM-G

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of Rural Development Department (RDD) works being executed under the District Capex budget and key flagship schemes — Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).

During the meeting, Dr. Minhas conducted a block-wise review of ongoing rural development projects and directed officers to achieve set targets under MGNREGA and SBM(G). He stressed the importance of initiating works that promote village sanitation and enhance rural livelihoods.

The Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions to accelerate expenditure under the District Capex budget and ensure timely execution of all allotted works. He emphasized that any land-related issues hindering project implementation must be resolved on priority by the respective Tehsildars. Officers were also directed to promptly take up supplementary plan works and ensure completion within set timelines.

Reviewing the physical and financial progress of RDD schemes, Dr. Minhas highlighted the need for close monitoring, inter-departmental coordination, and transparency to ensure effective delivery of government benefits at the grassroots level. He further underlined that PMAY(G) targets must be met within stipulated timelines and that all development works should have a visible impact in rural areas.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner Anmol Rathore, Chief Planning Officer Ajaypal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Shehzada Noor-ul-Ain, Assistant Commissioner Development Danish Rasool Mir, Block Development Officers, and other concerned officials.
