Deputy Commissioner Rajouri reviews Revenue Department functioning, stresses transparency and timely service delivery

Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, on Sunday chaired a meeting of the Revenue Department at the DC Office Complex to review the progress of key initiatives and streamline revenue-related service delivery across the district.

The meeting focused on the status of digitization of Jamabandis and geo-referencing of cadastral maps — crucial steps toward modernizing land records and ensuring greater transparency in revenue administration.

Reviewing the implementation of the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA), the Deputy Commissioner directed Tehsildars to ensure timely disposal of applications through the JK Revenue Portal and Service Plus Portal. He stressed strict adherence to service timelines to enhance public satisfaction and strengthen accountability.

Taking stock of revenue record updation and construction of revenue buildings, Sharma instructed ADCs, SDMs, and the ACR to ensure timely completion of works under close supervision.

To strengthen monitoring and transparency, the DC directed officials to conduct regular inspections of records and submit weekly progress reports. He also emphasized speedy redressal of grievances received through the JK SAMADHAN platform and urged officers to encourage citizens to register on the portal for effective grievance management.

Reiterating the crucial role of the Revenue Department in public service delivery, Sharma called for a proactive, transparent, and accountable approach to uphold public trust.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kalakote Tanvir Ahmed, ADC Kotranka Dilmir Chowdhary, ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, ADC Sunderbani Ramkesh Sharma, ACR Mohd Jahangir Khan, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, besides Tehsildars and other sectoral officers.
