India to Lead the Next Global Innovation Wave: LG Manoj Sinha
“Our focus is to ensure that scientific research, discoveries, and ideas are effectively translated into real-world applications for sustainable economic growth and improved quality of life,” said Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, addressing the 16th Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Highlighting India’s growing role in the global innovation ecosystem, the Lieutenant Governor said, “India will power the world’s next innovation wave. The country today is viewed with great respect as a nation that not only dreams big but also delivers. Behind this transformation stand institutions like NIT Raipur—nurturing young minds, linking academia with industry, and turning ideas into impactful innovations in line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

He emphasized the need for job creators and entrepreneurs who can drive innovation, create employment, and build a dynamic economy. “Young researchers must focus on solving real-world challenges in climate change, healthcare, education, and technology. Together, these efforts will make India self-reliant, globally competitive, and capable of achieving inclusive and sustainable growth,” he said.
Encouraging students to think beyond conventional boundaries, the Lieutenant Governor remarked, “Let your ideas not just build things, but change lives. Every innovation begins with a question—so keep asking, keep exploring, and keep contributing to Bharat’s progress.”
Discussing the transformative power of emerging technologies, LG Sinha said advancements in machine learning, generative AI, and autonomous systems would soon reshape every sphere of life and serve as a major engine for economic growth. “These fields offer tremendous opportunities for young technology professionals,” he added.
He also noted India’s dominant position in the Global Capability Center (GCC) landscape. “India has become the global hub for GCCs, with nearly 90% operating as multi-functional units contributing to technology operations, product engineering, and R&D worldwide. By 2030, their numbers will grow substantially, making them true powerhouses of innovation,” he stated.
Concluding his address, the Lieutenant Governor shared his Five Mantras for a Bright Future with the graduating students:
Adopt lifelong learning – Continuously update your skills to match the fast-evolving technological landscape.
Focus on problem-solving – Whether in a company or as an entrepreneur, aim to build solutions that bring real change to people’s lives.
