Anantnag: Continuing its intensified drive to uphold peace and strengthen the security grid across the district, Anantnag Police on Monday launched Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at multiple suspected locations.
According to an official statement, the operations were part of an ongoing crackdown on anti-national elements and terror associates linked to J&K-based JKNOP networks and individuals booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The primary objective was to trace and identify those involved in subversive activities, monitor suspicious movements, and ensure overall public safety.
Police teams, in close coordination with other security agencies, carried out extensive raids at Lal Chowk Anantnag — targeting the residence of a JKNOP member — and in the vicinity of District Jail Kheribal. Several identities were verified, and multiple premises were thoroughly searched during the exercise.
Reaffirming its resolve, Anantnag Police stated that such operations will continue in a sustained and coordinated manner to dismantle anti-national networks, preserve peace, and strengthen the sense of security among citizens.
