Stresses Timely Completion and Quality Maintenance

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects in the district and to address bottlenecks affecting their timely completion.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the pending publication of the final award for village Aitti and urged the concerned departments to expedite the process to facilitate smooth project implementation. He also instructed officials to ensure blacktopping of existing stretches and to complete the pending blacktopping work on the Thanamandi road without further delay.

The DC took a detailed review of the drainage system maintenance along the RTS road and discussed the Muradpur culvert issue, besides assessing structures falling under package 6 and 7 of the BRO project.

Reviewing the compensatory afforestation on land measuring 848 kanal and 12 marla, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Forest Department to ensure strict adherence to environmental norms and timely completion of plantation works. He also examined the status of revenue papers for villages Lam and Mangal Devi located along the Beripattan–Jhullas road, instructing Revenue officers to expedite the necessary formalities.

Reiterating the importance of coordination between executing agencies and the district administration, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized collective efforts to ensure the timely and quality completion of road projects crucial for border connectivity and public convenience.

The meeting was attended by ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan, AC Defence Israr Mir, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, Ex En PWD Aftab Anwar, DFO Nowshera Shweta Deonia, BRO representatives, Tehsildars, and other district and sectoral officers.
