Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Monday reviewed the security and law and order situation in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police spokesperson said the DGP held a detailed meeting to assess the prevailing security scenario, with a special focus on ongoing counter-terror operations—both kinetic and non-kinetic—along with measures to combat drug abuse and other criminal activities.
Prabhat, accompanied by Special DG Coordination (PHQ) S. J. M. Gillani and Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) V. K. Birdi, chaired the review meeting at the District Police Lines, Bandipora. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar and other district officers were also present.

During the interaction, the DGP directed officers to remain alert, disciplined, and proactive in their respective jurisdictions. He stressed the need to intensify efforts against anti-national elements, drug trafficking, and other forms of crime, ensuring strict action against those involved.
Prabhat also underlined the importance of community policing and close coordination among security agencies to strengthen public confidence and maintain peace and stability in the district, the spokesperson added.
