Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Veteran actor Dharmendra has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after his health reportedly deteriorated on Monday. The news left fans and members of the film fraternity deeply concerned, with several celebrities visiting the hospital to check on him.
Amid growing speculation, Sunny Deol issued a statement assuring that his father is stable and under observation, urging everyone to avoid spreading false information and to pray for the actor’s recovery.
“Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further updates will be shared as available. Kindly refrain from spreading false rumours regarding his health. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s privacy,” read the statement from Sunny Deol’s team.
Earlier in the day, Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s wife and veteran actress, also addressed fans’ concerns on Instagram.
“I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji, who is in the hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored, and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery,” she wrote.
Later in the evening, several family members including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Karan Deol, and Rajveer Deol were seen arriving at the hospital.
A number of Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel, also visited to inquire about the actor’s health.
Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars, is celebrated for his iconic roles in classics like Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Pratiggya, Charas, and Dharam Veer.
Most recently, he appeared in Karan Johar’s 2023 hit Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, and will next be seen in the upcoming film ‘Ikkis’.
