New Delhi: Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah will remain with the national squad for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, despite an attack on his residence in Lower Dir.
According to ESPNcricinfo, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the gate of Naseem’s family home in the early hours of Monday. No injuries were reported, and the attackers fled the scene soon after. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. It remains unclear who was present at the house during the attack.
Pakistan will play three ODIs against Sri Lanka from November 11 to 15 in Rawalpindi, followed by a T20I tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. Naseem is part of both squads.
In Pakistan’s recent ODI series win against South Africa (2–1), Naseem took three wickets in two matches at an average of 24.66. Overall, he has 58 wickets in 32 ODIs, with a best of 5/33 and two five-wicket hauls.
