Nagrota Records 52.44% and Budgam 34.01% Voter Turnout Till 1 PM in J&K Bypolls

Srinagar: Voting progressed steadily across Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies on Tuesday morning, with both seats recording a strong voter response by 1 p.m., according to official figures.

As per the Election Commission data, the Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77) registered an approximate voter turnout of 52.44% by 1 p.m., indicating enthusiastic participation from the electorate in the early hours of polling.

In the Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27), voter turnout stood at 34.01% around the same time, with officials expecting the numbers to increase as the day advances.

Despite chilly weather conditions in several areas, voters continued to turn up at polling stations in steady numbers, while security personnel ensured peaceful and orderly polling across both constituencies.

A total of 17 candidates are in the fray, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, Peoples Democratic Party’s Aga Syed Muntazir, and BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin, among others.
