Kulgam: Continuing its intensified anti-terror and anti-narcotics drive, Kulgam Police on Tuesday arrested a Nepalese national after recovering charas from his possession, officials said.
SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary, stated, “Over the past few days, we have been carrying out a large-scale crackdown against terrorism. As part of this initiative, a special vehicle-checking operation was launched today—not only along highways, as done routinely, but also at more than 75 locations across Kulgam’s interiors.”
“During the operation, our teams apprehended a Nepalese national carrying charas in his luggage. He tried to evade the checks due to odd timings, but our personnel were alert and intercepted him,” the SSP added.
Police said the operation highlights their ongoing vigilance against narcotics smuggling and other unlawful activities in the district. An investigation is underway to identify the source and network linked to the contraband.
