Srinagar: The Nagrota and Budgam Assembly constituencies recorded impressive voter participation in Tuesday’s bypolls, with Nagrota posting a turnout of 74.63% and Budgam closing at 49.92%, according to official figures.
In the Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77), voter turnout reached 74.63%, reflecting strong public engagement throughout the polling day. Meanwhile, the Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27) reported a final turnout of 49.92%, as voters came out steadily despite chilly weather in several parts of the area.
Polling officials said that voters continued to arrive at polling stations in large numbers, and the process remained peaceful, smooth, and incident-free under tight security arrangements.
A total of 17 candidates are contesting in these bypolls, including Aga Syed Mehmood (National Conference), Aga Syed Muntazir (PDP), and Aga Syed Mohsin (BJP), among others.
