Javid Ahmad Dar lays foundation stones for multiple developmental projects across Baramulla
BARAMULLA: In a major push to enhance rural infrastructure and strengthen grassroots governance, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperative, and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, today laid foundation stones for several key developmental projects across different blocks of Baramulla district under the UT Capex and District Capex schemes.
At Nadihal, the Minister laid the foundation stone for the Block Development Council Office Building under UT Capex, sanctioned at a cost of ₹125.16 lakh, and for a Bridge on Nallah Daikal Ladoora worth ₹25.00 lakh. Addressing the gathering, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening rural connectivity and improving administrative infrastructure.
At Rohama Block, the Minister inaugurated the foundation for a Community Hall-cum-Multipurpose Centre at Humdub Panzalla under District Capex/BDC Grants, with a project cost of ₹65.00 lakh. In Rafiabad Block, he laid the foundation stone for an RCC Box Type Culvert at Budden Saripara, estimated at ₹32.90 lakh under the UT Capex scheme.
Further, in Kandi Rafiabad Block, the Minister laid foundation stones for two major works — a Community Hall at Kangroosa under District Capex/PRI Grants costing ₹80.00 lakh, and a Block Development Council Office Building at Kangroosa under UT Capex with an approved cost of ₹125.16 lakh. Interacting with the public, he highlighted the government’s focus on inclusive growth, participatory governance, and institutional strengthening in rural areas.
With a total investment exceeding ₹4.5 crore, these projects aim to significantly enhance public amenities, connectivity, and administrative capacity across Baramulla’s rural landscape.
The Minister was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina, and Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla, Mudasir Hussain Choudhary, who briefed him on project timelines and expected outcomes.
Local residents expressed deep appreciation for the government’s continued efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development in the district.
