SRINAGAR: Giving a major boost to the rapidly growing sport of Pickleball in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Transport, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Science & Technology, Information Technology, and ARI & Trainings, Satish Sharma today unveiled the official jersey of the Jammu & Kashmir Pickleball Team ahead of the IPA Pickleball Nationals 2025 scheduled to be held in Bengaluru.

Extending his best wishes to the players representing the Union Territory at the national event, Minister Sharma expressed pride over the increasing participation of J&K’s youth in emerging sports disciplines. He lauded the Jammu & Kashmir Pickleball Association for its dedication and sustained efforts in popularizing Pickleball across districts and fostering a vibrant sporting culture in the region.

“The growing popularity of Pickleball in Jammu & Kashmir mirrors our youth’s passion for exploring new sporting opportunities. The government is firmly committed to supporting such initiatives that promote fitness, talent recognition, and sporting excellence,” Sharma stated.

The launch event represents another significant stride toward strengthening sports infrastructure and expanding opportunities for youth in Jammu & Kashmir, in line with the government’s vision of transforming the UT into a hub of sporting excellence.

Notably, the Jammu & Kashmir Pickleball Association has been instrumental in expanding the sport’s reach by establishing dedicated venues, organizing tournaments, and encouraging participation from players across age groups and backgrounds.
