Srinagar: With the night chill tightening its grip over the Valley, Srinagar — the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir — recorded the season’s coldest night at minus 1.6°C.
According to the Meteorological (MeT) Department, Pahalgam remained the coldest place in the Valley, with temperatures dipping to minus 3.8°C. Qazigund, known as the gateway to Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 1.5°C, while Kupwara saw the mercury drop to minus 2.0°C.
Gulmarg, the renowned ski resort, registered a low of minus 1.0°C, whereas Kokernag recorded a comparatively milder night temperature of 0.8°C, the MeT data showed.
