New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the Union Cabinet’s latest decisions on exports will enhance India’s global competitiveness and support the country’s vision of self-reliance.
At a meeting chaired by Modi on Wednesday, the Cabinet approved an Export Promotion Mission (EPM) and a Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters.
In a post on X, the prime minister said the EPM will strengthen the “Made in India” brand globally by improving export competitiveness and supporting MSMEs, first-time exporters, and labour-intensive sectors. He added that the initiative brings together key stakeholders to create an effective, outcome-driven mechanism.
Modi said the newly approved Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters will further boost global competitiveness, ensure smoother business operations and advance the goal of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
He also highlighted the Cabinet’s decision to rationalise royalty rates for graphite, caesium, rubidium and zirconium—minerals crucial for green energy—saying it will strengthen supply chains, enhance sustainability, and create new job opportunities.
