Chandigarh: Punjab Police on Thursday uncovered a Pakistan-backed grenade attack module and arrested 10 people involved.
According to officials, the suspects were in contact with handlers based in Pakistan who had tasked them with carrying out a grenade attack to disturb peace in the state.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on X that the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police had made a “major breakthrough” by busting an ISI-backed module and apprehending 10 key operatives linked to foreign handlers.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were coordinating with Pakistan-based handlers through three Malaysia-based operatives to arrange the pickup and delivery of a hand grenade. The handlers had instructed them to execute an attack in a crowded area to trigger unrest, the DGP said.

Yadav added that the Punjab Police remains committed to combating terrorism and dismantling cross-border networks to maintain peace and security in the state.
