Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: The Pulwama Police on Thursday conducted coordinated Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at multiple suspected locations across the district as part of an ongoing crackdown on anti-national elements, including Jammu and Kashmir residents operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (JKNOP), according to an official release.
The operations focused on identifying individuals involved in unlawful activities, enhancing surveillance, and ensuring public safety. Several premises were searched, and the identities of numerous persons were verified during the joint exercise with security forces.
Pulwama Police reaffirmed that such operations will continue to dismantle terror-support networks, curb anti-national propaganda, and maintain peace in the district.
A day earlier, Anantnag Police also carried out coordinated raids in connection with a major crackdown on the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
In Kulgam, police intensified action against anti-national elements with heightened vehicle checks at the Navyug Tunnel. Kulgam SSP Anayat Ali Choudhary said that on Tuesday, police apprehended a Nepali national and seized a consignment of charas.
“For the past few days, we have been cracking down on anti-national elements, terror supporters, and those operating from outside India. Extensive vehicle checking is underway across Kulgam, including at the vital Navyug Tunnel entry point. During these checks, we caught a Nepali national with charas, which shows the police are alert and committed to citizens’ security,” SSP Choudhary said.
These actions follow the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed at least eight people, and the recovery of 360 kg of explosives in Faridabad on November 10.
