Patna: The ruling NDA was ahead in 111 assembly seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc led in 33, as per trends on the Election Commission’s website.
Among NDA constituents, the BJP was leading in 48 seats, JD(U) in 44, LJP (Ram Vilas) in 13, and HAM in three.
On the opposition side, the RJD led in 23 seats, the Congress in seven, and the Vikassheel Insaan Party in one. The Plurals Party and an independent candidate were also ahead in one seat each.
Counting for all 243 constituencies was underway on Friday.
In key contests, BJP’s Shreyasi Singh held a lead of 2,539 votes in Jamui over RJD’s Mohammad Shamsad Alam. JJD founder Tej Pratap Yadav stood third after the first round in Mahua, where LJP (RV)’s Sanjay Kumar Singh was leading over RJD’s Mukesh Kumar.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha was trailing in Lakhisarai, while Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar had a narrow lead of 79 votes.
JD(U)’s Anant Kumar Singh led Mokama by 2,716 votes against RJD’s Veena Devi after the first round. RJD’s Rit Lal Roy, contesting from jail, was ahead in Danapur by 7,936 votes, with BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav trailing.
In Bankipur, BJP’s Nitin Nabin led by 2,043 votes, while RJD’s Rekha Kumari was behind. CPIM(L) Liberation candidate Sandeep Saurav held a 241-vote lead in Paliganj, with LJP (RV)’s Sunil Kumar trailing.
