GCOE Jammu holds documentary screening under NCORD initiative

JAMMU: The Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu, on Friday held a special screening of an educational documentary on tobacco addiction as part of its ongoing efforts to promote youth awareness and prevent substance abuse. The event was organized under the NCORD Committee, chaired by Dr. Ramzan Ali.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal and Prof. Roopa, who oversaw its smooth conduct and encouraged meaningful interaction among participants.

The documentary underscored the harmful effects of nicotine, its impact on the brain, and the increasing need for preventive education among young students.

Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar stressed the importance of sensitizing students about the dangers of substance abuse. She lauded the NCORD Committee for its continuous efforts to foster a healthier, drug-free campus environment and urged students to act as ambassadors of awareness in their communities.

Faculty members, NSS volunteers, and students attended the screening with great interest. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, during which students shared their thoughts on the documentary and pledged to make informed, responsible choices for a better future.
