Jammu: A rusted mortar shell was discovered on Saturday during drain construction work in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials said.
Labourers spotted the shell around 10 am near an educational institution, following which police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
A Bomb Disposal Squad was called in, and efforts are underway to safely neutralise the high-grade explosive, officials added.
