SHOPIAN, Nov 16: Police have arrested six absconders in Shopian who had been evading the law for extended periods in connection with multiple cases registered against them. According to officials, the arrests were made during a special drive launched to track down individuals involved in various criminal activities who had been ignoring court warrants and avoiding legal proceedings.

Police teams carried out coordinated raids at several locations across the district after receiving actionable intelligence about the suspects’ movements. The absconders were taken into custody without major resistance and have been shifted to the concerned police stations for further legal formalities.

Officials said the arrested individuals were wanted in cases related to public disorder, theft, and other offences. Authorities added that the crackdown will continue in the coming days to ensure that no person facing legal action remains at large.
