Security agencies have successfully foiled a fresh attempt by terror handlers based in Pakistan, Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), and Dubai to radicalize and recruit Kashmiri youth, officials said on Tuesday.
According to officials, intelligence inputs revealed that handlers abroad were using social media platforms and encrypted communication channels to target vulnerable youth in J&K with extremist propaganda. The timely intervention by security agencies helped prevent several young individuals from being drawn into the terror network.
Authorities said the operation is part of an ongoing effort to counter digital radicalization attempts originating from across the border and from foreign-based operatives. Multiple digital footprints and communication trails have been identified, and further investigation is underway to trace the entire network.
Security agencies reiterated that any attempt to misguide or exploit the region’s youth will be met with swift and decisive action. They also urged parents and community leaders to stay vigilant and report any suspicious online activity.
