SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Satish Sharma, Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, IT, and ARI & Trainings, met a series of public delegations at the Civil Secretariat and reviewed their sector-wise concerns.

During the interactions, the Minister heard detailed inputs on administrative hurdles, policy requirements and public demands. He assured the visiting groups that their concerns would be taken up by the departments concerned for timely action.

Representatives of the Western Union Transport Delegation informed the Minister about issues related to permit approvals, delays in fitness and renewal procedures, the need for an organised fare revision system and stronger checks on unauthorised operators. They requested measures to make the transport framework more transparent and efficient.

The Rehbar-e-Khel (REK) employees’ association raised concerns over regularisation and the release of pending honorarium, emphasising that these decisions affect hundreds of youth engaged in sports development programmes across the UT.

The Kerosene Dealers Association discussed gaps in kerosene distribution, including inconsistent supply and inadequate allocation. They sought clearer policies to improve the FCS&CA delivery chain and ensure uninterrupted public access.

The Mini Bus Operators Association spoke about traffic management issues, the absence of notified stopping points, uneven route distribution, financial pressures due to rising operational costs and pendency of subsidy cases. They urged the Minister to introduce reforms that would support the survival of small operators.

Several additional delegations also presented their demands concerning welfare needs, departmental services and infrastructure improvements.

Sharma instructed officers to review all points raised and initiate swift redressal wherever required. He reaffirmed that the government remains committed to accountable, responsive and citizen-centric administration, noting that such meetings help identify gaps and strengthen service delivery across departments.
