Former Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai formally marked the transition of office by leaving his official car for his successor, Justice Surya Kant, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The symbolic gesture underscored the continuity of judicial leadership and respect for institutional traditions.

The handover took place following the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Surya Kant as the new Chief Justice of India.
