Police and security agencies carried out raids across multiple districts of Kashmir as part of a crackdown on the banned Jamaat-e-Islami. The searches were conducted in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam, Kulgam, Kupwara, and Shopian, targeting residential houses, educational institutions, madrassas, mosques, and business establishments linked to the organisation.

Officials confirmed that the raids were aimed at dismantling what they described as the “terror support ecosystem.” During the operations, electronic gadgets, incriminating literature, and documents were seized for further investigation.

Residences of several individuals were searched, including Umar Sultan Guru, Mohd Abdullah Wani, Gh. Mohd Bhat, Haji Mohammad Ramzan Lone, Shahid Zahgeer, Mohd Ramzan Naik, Bashir Ahmad Lone, Peer Giyas Ud Din, and Manzoor Ahmad of Nowgam Chowk. In some locations, no incriminating material was found.

Police stated that the crackdown is part of a broader drive to bring all individuals with past or present affiliations to Jamaat-e-Islami under scrutiny. The raids follow intelligence inputs about the group’s alleged involvement in radicalisation and support networks.
