Srinagar, Nov 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified de-radicalisation efforts across Srinagar, focusing on community outreach, counselling, and awareness programmes aimed at preventing youth from falling prey to extremist narratives.
Officials stated that the initiative includes regular interactions with students, parents, and religious leaders to promote social harmony and counter misinformation. Special counselling sessions are being conducted for vulnerable groups, with emphasis on education, skill development, and constructive engagement.
Police highlighted that de-radicalisation measures are being strengthened in collaboration with civil society organisations and educational institutions. Awareness drives, workshops, and cultural activities are being organised to encourage positive participation and build resilience against radical influences.
Senior officers noted that the strategy is part of a broader campaign to safeguard peace and stability in Srinagar. They reiterated that the police remain committed to supporting youth through guidance, opportunities, and community partnerships.
The strengthened de-radicalisation efforts reflect the administration’s focus on proactive measures to counter extremist tendencies and ensure long-term social cohesion in the Valley.
