Faridabad, Nov 27: A 17-year-old girl preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) died after allegedly jumping from a residential society building in Faridabad, police said on Friday.
Officials confirmed that the girl was living with her family in the housing complex and was preparing for competitive examinations. The incident occurred late Thursday evening, prompting immediate response from residents and security staff.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Police teams reached the spot and initiated proceedings under law, including collection of statements and examination of circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities said preliminary enquiry suggests academic stress may have contributed, though a detailed investigation is underway. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Police emphasized that all angles are being examined and appealed to the public to avoid speculation. Officials reiterated the importance of counselling and support for students preparing for competitive examinations.
