New Delhi, Dec 6: The Government of India has stated that no irregularities were found in the recently held Bihar Assembly elections, citing confirmation from the Election Commission of India. Responding to queries in Parliament, the Ministry of Law and Justice emphasized that the polls were conducted in a free and fair manner under the supervision of the Election Commission.
Officials clarified that the Election Commission had reviewed complaints and reports received during the electoral process and found no evidence of malpractice or irregularities. The government underscored that the Commission remains the constitutional authority responsible for ensuring transparency and fairness in elections across the country.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal informed the House that the Commission had submitted its findings, which confirmed adherence to established procedures and guidelines. He reiterated that the government fully respects the autonomy of the Election Commission and relies on its assessment to uphold democratic standards.
The statement comes amid political debate over the conduct of the Bihar polls, with the government stressing that the Commission’s report should put concerns to rest. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening electoral processes and maintaining public trust in democratic institutions.
