Srinagar, Dec 6: The government has tightened its grip on coaching centres across Kashmir, announcing strict regulations to ensure compliance with academic and administrative norms. Officials said the move is aimed at streamlining operations, safeguarding student interests, and curbing malpractices in the sector.

According to the Education Department, coaching centres will now be required to register formally, adhere to prescribed fee structures, and maintain transparency in admissions. Authorities emphasized that centres failing to comply with the new guidelines will face penalties, including closure.

Inspections have been intensified to monitor facilities, teaching standards, and safety measures. Officials noted that several centres were found violating norms related to infrastructure, overcrowding, and unauthorized fee hikes, prompting immediate corrective action.

Parents and students have welcomed the initiative, saying it will bring accountability and discipline to the coaching industry. Many expressed hope that the regulations will reduce exploitation and ensure quality education.

The government reiterated that the coaching sector must operate within the framework of law and stressed that the reforms are designed to protect students from undue pressure and financial burden. Authorities assured that continuous monitoring will be carried out to enforce compliance.
