Dy CM Seeks Report on Kheora Industrial Units

Rajouri: Deputy ef Minister Surinder Choudhary today chaired an extensive review meeting in Rajouri to assess the progress of development works being carried out by departments including PWD (R&B), Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development and Mining.

The Deputy CM reviewed in detail the status of District Capex, UT Capex, Roads & Bridges, City & Towns, SASCI, NABARD and CRF projects. He issued firm directions to blacklist non-performing contractors and asked officers to expedite ongoing works on school buildings, hospitals and other public institutions. He also stressed the need to maintain full transparency in tendering and execution processes, and directed departments to hold regular consultations with local MLAs while framing developmental priorities.

While reviewing the functioning of the Mining Department, he instructed authorities to inspect stone crushers, strengthen enforcement and ensure that all mining operations strictly follow legal norms.

Taking a detailed review of the Industries & Commerce Department, the Deputy CM sought a comprehensive report on the Kheora industrial units. He also directed officers to identify suitable locations for establishing new industrial units to promote entrepreneurship and increase local employment opportunities.

Reviewing the Employment Department, he called for speeding up cases under Mission YUVA and ensuring timely facilitation for eligible youth. He also instructed the Labour Department to complete the renewal of labour cards within fixed timelines.

Assessing the district’s Skill Development initiatives, the Deputy CM directed officials to raise enrolment, introduce market-driven trades and strengthen skill training infrastructure across the district.

He also interacted with BRO authorities and directed them to maintain alternative routes until the ongoing tunnel work is completed, ensuring smooth and hassle-free movement for the public.

The meeting was attended by MLA Rajouri Iftikhar Ahmed, MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary, MLA Kalakote Thakur Randheer Singh, MLA Thanamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, senior district officers, Chief Engineers, SE PWD, Executive Engineers and sectoral officers from various departments.
