President Murmu to Visit Nupee Lal Memorial, Launch Development Projects in Senapati
Imphal, December 12 — President Droupadi Murmu will visit the Nupee Lal Memorial complex in Imphal today to pay her respect to the women warriors of Manipur, honouring their historic role in the state’s social and political movements. Following the tribute, she will travel to Senapati, where she is scheduled to address a public gathering and lay foundation stones as well as inaugurate a series of development projects for the district.
The President arrived in Imphal yesterday afternoon on a two-day visit. On the first day of her tour, she laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth ₹1,387 crore in the state capital. The initiatives span key sectors including health, education, roads and highways, tribal development, agriculture, electricity and drinking water.
In her address, President Murmu said the newly launched projects would help generate employment, strengthen infrastructure and boost economic activity across Manipur. She noted that the initiatives reflect the Government’s commitment to inclusive development and the empowerment of the people of the state.
Expressing concern over the hardship faced by the people of Manipur in the wake of recent violence, the President said the Government stands with every affected family. She assured that addressing the concerns of the people remains a top priority.
Reaffirming the Government’s resolve, she said efforts will continue to strengthen harmony, ensure security and support Manipur’s path toward stability and prosperity. She added that the Government is committed to equitable development across the state and will work to ensure that the benefits of progress reach every region.
