Bathindi Police Foil Illegal Bovine Transport in Jammu

In a continued crackdown on illegal activities, Jammu Police South Zone recorded another success after Police Post Bathindi intercepted an attempt to transport bovine animals illegally in the Barmini area.

During routine patrolling and naka checking, the police team signaled a load carrier bearing registration number JK02DG-1474 to stop. On spotting the police, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. A detailed inspection of the carrier led to the recovery of four bovine animals that had been tied with ropes.

Following the incident, FIR No. 342/2025 under Sections 299 and 223 of the BNS and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort. Further investigation has been taken up.

Jammu Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, preventing cruelty to animals and ensuring that illegal transportation is strictly curbed across the region.
